SIMULMONDO was the first big Italian software house to produce games for C64.
It was founded by Francesco Carla' in 1987. SIMULMONDO was born in a period in which it was really difficult to produce C64 games,
because the C64 users were now expecting high quality games. And these games could be only the resoult of a staff-work, not of a single programmer.
Despite this the Simulmondo was able to produce some interesting games, like MILLE MIGLIA, and SIMULGOLF.
The games from Simulmondo looked nice, even if they were not characterized from a complex graphic, and were halfway between arcades and
manager/puzzle, not just arcade. |
Where did they go?
The Simulmondo was born with the clear intention of producing games for C64, Amiga and PC, therefor when the C64 market did
not provide enough buyers, they went on with Amiga and PC
Simulmondo was one of a very few
gamecompanies that almost only created Sport-Games to Commodore 64. They created 14 Sportgames and so far as I know they
created 3 none-sportgames: 3D Scacchi Simulator, Dylan Dog and Diabolik.
All their games are very well presented and with good graphics.
And in the most cases the playability is very good. Simulmondo was an Italian Game-Company and in all their games you
can chose between the Italian or English language. |
