INTRODUCTION
ENDURO RACER has been described as:

From tarmac tracks to desert trails ENDURO RACER is a stunning motorbike race pitting you against time as you compete with deadly opponents and the cruel and challenging terrain...

At the start of every stage a timer is set to 60 seconds, the limit within which the course must be completed. The other riders and the various obstacles on the road can slow you down or even throw you off your bike. There are five stages.

LOADING INSTRUCTIONS
COMMODORE 64 CASSETTE:-
Press 'Shift' and 'RUN/STOP' keys simultaneously and press 'PLAY' on your cassette recorder.

COMMODORE 64 DISC:-
Type LOAD "*",8,1 and then press 'RETURN'.

In case of LOADING difficulties please refer to the chapter on LOADING and SAVING programs in your computer's User Manual.

GAME INSTRUCTIONS
Once Enduro Racer has loaded press any key to display the menu screen.

START GAME
ONE PLAYER
DEFINE KEYS

These will let you set up the game to suit you. One of these will be lit up, you can change the choice that is lit up by pressing any key (except the Space key)

To select one of these choices you should press the Space key or Fire button.

START GAME: If this is lit up and you press Space then the game will start.
If you are using a joystick then press the Fire Button to begin.

ONE PLAYER:
If you press the Space Bar when this is lit then it will change between ONE and TWO PLAYER mode. If you are playing a two player game then '1 UP' will appear in the bottom right of the screen while player 1 is playing, '2 UP' will appear in the bottom right while player 2 is playing. Control will switch between players when one of them crashes or when their time runs out.

DEFINE KEYS:
This option allows you to choose different keys to control your Bike. The preset controls are given below.

CONTROLS:
KEY - EFFECT
Q - Increase Throttle
A - Pull a Wheelie
O - Turn Left
P - Turn Right
Space Key - Apply Breaks

H - Pause Game
R - Reset Game

If you are using a Joystick then the controls are:
Left = Left
Right = Right
Up = Throttle
Down = Wheelie

Fire Button: Breaks.

SCREEN DISPLAY:
TIME gives the time you have left (in seconds) to complete the current stage. SCORE gives your score.

STAGE tells you which of the 5 stages you are on.

SPEED gives your speed in Kilometers per Hour.

HINTS AND TIPS
Avoid other riders, jeeps, rocks, trees, water etc.

Remain on the road (in stage 3 there is water to either side of the road) in order to maintain maximum speed.

When you go over the jumps you will lose speed unless you pull a wheelie before reaching the jump. You may also go round the sides of the jumps, though this may slow you down.

There are 5 Stages taking you through 5 different landscapes.

END OF GAME AND HIGH SCORE:
At the end of a game the following will appear on screen:

In the RECORD column the number of the stage is given followed by the fastest time for that stage.

In the PLAYER column your times for the stages are given. For the final stage that you were unable to complete a percentage is given showing how far you got through that stage.

If you get onto the High Score Table then you will be able to enter your name by using the Keyboard or Joystick. You may move the cursor up, down, left and right using the following controls:

UP - THROTTLE
DOWN - WHEELIE
LEFT - LEFT
RIGHT - RIGHT

Fire or space will select the letter that is currently highlighted. Select E/D when you have finished entering your name.
