Metro Cross (Rerelease)
Copyright/Publisher: Kixx, Release Year: 1989,
Genre: Weird Sports, Number Of Players: 1 or 2

Another coin-op conversion, this time from a Namco/atari original, which puts you in the designer trainers of a person whose task in life is to run from one end of a course of obstacles to the other, within a strict time limit.

Hurdles, rolling Coke cans and malevolent paving slabs are all out to slow you down to certain-death speed, so timely leaping is the order of the day. Clever joggers can gain extra puntos by kicking over cans, or gain a speed advantage by leaping onto one of the skateboards which appear from time to time.

Metrocross isn't really outstanding in any field, having chunky graphics, an odd tune and rather monotonous gameplay, but it provides enough entertainment to make it worth the small financial outlay.
